service remote NFS mount requests
mountd [-n] [exports_file]
- -n
- Allow non-superuser mount requests to be served. You
should specify this option only if you have clients that
don't support user IDs, such as DOS machines. If you do have
DOS-based clients, you'll also need to run pcnfsd.
- exports_file
- Use this exports file (default is /etc/exports).
The mountd daemon services NFS mount requests
from client machines. The daemon keeps a (unreliable) list
of current client mounts in the
/usr/tmp/mountdtab file.
Sending a SIGHUP signal to mountd causes it to
reread its exports file.
- /etc/exports
- Defines remote mount points for NFS mount requests.
- /usr/tmp/mountdtab
- Contains an (unreliable) list of current client mounts.
